Fully Branded Food Delivery Bags

When we first started manufacturing food delivery bags back in 2002 , we had very limited experience in manufacturing , but we had a lot of passion to do something different, and to do something unique. Me personally i had already experience in selling travel bags and school bags, but food delivery bags was something very new to us and later i discovered that it was also new to many other manufacturers.

Branding of  bags back then was limited to small embroideries done on the front of a pizza bag, or silk screen printing. Then in 2004 we were approached by a young innovative restaurant Chopsticks , The owner wanted a complete branding of the delivery bags, and as usual i said hastily yes we can no problem. but when i asked the guy who does the silk screen printing for us , he said that this is impossible, and when i asked why he said that the fabric size is very big to be printed and that this needs to be done in the factory where the fabrics are weaved. so i set out to find another supplier who is willing to try and do it, and with our limited resources i managed to find someone who is willing to do the project, it was very risky for us because the upfront investment in molds and clichets was very big for our small budget.

My yes for the client resulted in a very innovative product both in looks and functionality. The bag design was simple, it had a pattern printed on the sides and the logo  in big at the front of the bag.

other than the new full branded design printed on the delivery bag, the bag had new compartments inside for the beverages, inside the bag yet fully insulated from the hot foods inside. the bag had a front pocket to put inside the credit card reading machine and delivery menus, and for the safety and comfort of the driver the bag had a soft padded wait belt that kept the bag secure on the bag of the driver.

Now the Branded food delivery bags are taken a step further, where you can fully customize your bag in full color , the bag will be fully branded and at much lower quantities of 25 bags.

Do you have any “impossible” project for us regarding bags, we would like to help you achieve that.

Anti Bacterial Pizza Bags

Today we will start a series of posts that will be called the New Product Weekly, where we introduce to you, one or more new products that have been launched during this week, or products that we want to introduce in the future, or products that are not available on the website and we want to highlight.

I have chosen this topic for our weekly update because i have noticed that many of our clients do not know all the solutions available that we have made in general or for specific clients. This will enrich all the followers of this blog and our clients, so that when they a need a solution they can come here and look  for what has been done before, and to either build on it or to use it same as, and if their is a new challenge we will sure help you overcome it.

The first product we will talk about is the Anti Bacterial Pizza Delivery Bags. As a definition, an Anti Bacterial Bag, is a bag where the internal fabrics of the bags that are in direct contact with the foods and food packaging are made from Anti Bacterial Fabrics.

Staphylococcus Aureus

Anti Bacterial Fabrics  are made early on in the manufacturing of the fabric, it is not something that we add on the fabric after it has been weaved, it is added to the fibers , so that when the fabric gets in contact with any source of contamination, the bacteria and mould will not have a good habitat and conditions to grow .

Below are sample tests result for the Anti Bacterial and Mold Resistance tests

PRD 72AB-STAR  Pizza Bags

The bag that we will introduce today is the Anti Bacterial Pizza Delivery Bag  or the PRD 72AB-STAR .

Anti Bacterial Pizza bag
PRD 72AB-STAR

This bag has all the components for a reliable sustainable long term usage. This pizza bag has three layers of insulation making it one of the most heavily insulated pizza bags , the internal fabrics of the bags are Anti Bacterial , the external fabrics are 900D PE coated that are manufactured specifically for heavy repeated usage. the bag also has two handles and a wide heavy duty PVC window to put the order inside, please note the frame around the window, this frame will protect the PVC from tearing. The PVC material used is thick, but not weaved, so we came up with this innovation to make very heavy duty.

The 72AB-STAR also can be modified. Yes you can add on this bag another top pouch for beverages, the top pouch is integrated using already stitched webbing on the pizza  bag, they are stitched in a way that they could be used, but they are not evident at the first sight.

Ten Tips to get the best out of exhibitions

1. You have 6-8 seconds to capture somebody’s attention and gain their interest as they walk by. A lot of type and details on your graphics is not going to grab their attentions. Put that information in the literature you pass out.

2. If a visitors walks past your booth and pauses, ENGAGE! That is their invitation for you to engage them in conversation.

3. Small talk wastes their time and your time. Get to the point once you engage. “Good afternoon! What interests you about my wonderful offering?” (insert your offering in place of “wonderful offering”)

4. Don’t use important graphics below waist level on your display. Nobody’s eyes ever get that far down when they are passing by. A table or visitors’ bags are at that level anyway.

5. Always use additional lighting and pay for electricity if available. Don’t be fooled into thinking the exhibit hall’s overhead lighting will be bright enough. It never is. Visitors are attracted to a well lighted booth. It gives a feeling of being bright and cheery.

6. Never sit down! It sends a message that you don’t want to be bothered. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes because standing and working and exhibit can be exhausting.

7. Don’t leave your table at the front of your booth. Move it off to the side to create a space where visitors feel invited in. A table left in front tends to create a jam up of people in front of the booth and causes other visitors to be concerned only with trying to get around the jam instead of looking at your booth.

8. Take two different types of giveaways. Use a less expensive, but effective, giveaway for the freebie vultures. These are the people that come by your booth looking for the free giveaway. Don’t totally discount these people because the may actually just be trying to get your information and the giveaway will cause them to think of you whenever they use it. The second giveaway should be something a little nicer. It is a reward and thank you for a visitor stopping and engaging in genuine interested conversation regarding your product. You definitely want to give them a reason to remember you.

9. Prior to the show, send out a teaser piece to entice targeted prospects to track you down at the show. The piece will tell them where you are located and why your offering will help them. And most of all, let them know about the free gift they will receive when they stop by.

10. This may be the most important piece of advice to take away from this article. FOLLOW UP, FOLLOW UP, FOLLOW UP! The whole reason you went to the trade show is to make a sale or gain a qualified and interested prospect! They are no longer a cold call. At worst, the are now a warm lead if not a hot lead.

ANDone. always have a special offer for the exhibition, to give them more reaon to take action during the exhibition.

A recent article in New York Times talks about the proposed ban on Plastic-Foam packaging for restaurants and cafes that NY mayor Bloomberg suggested. This issue will raise the question about how the restaurant industry should adapt to this new trend. The law will pass eventually because the paper packaging alternatives are becoming less expensive and the increased cost of recycling will eventually push the foam out, but the cost of foam will always be less than any other form of packaging.

This trend is getting traction from the giants like McDonalds and other cities that have already implemented the Ban.

If you are a restaurant owner or responsible for setting up a budget for a restaurant operation, how are you adapting to this new trend? will the market forces push towards a ban or towards a reversal? share you opinion in the comments.

LinkedIn is an established social network with more than 200 million users that focuses on building business to business relationships but it can be a very valuable resource for a restaurant marketing plan, the most important thing is to know where and how to use it for your advantage. Business clients in the end are the most  who spend on lunches and restaurants as companies and as individuals inside a company.

To start , you must have a LinkedIn profile, then you must add your restaurant as a company with a profile, this will establish your restaurant presence on LinkedIn. Always remember to link back to your restaurant website, or what we call the home base on the internet virtual estate.

Then you must fill your company profile with relevant information like your most recent menu, your opening hours, your happy hours and your specials. Highlight things that could be of interest to companies and corporate account like the ability to host lunches, gatherings, and the ability to offer corporate discounts. Explain in details what you can offer not just stating them in bullets and if you have delivery or catering tell them to where you can deliver and what could be offered.

Creating a group for your restaurant could add more interaction with your potential clients, where you can communicate directly with them, large corporate accounts are always seeking to offer something new and affordable for the employees and for their clients, especially during product launches and business gatherings, offer them to come and sample your food and your service, you can offer an incentive to join the group.

Join other groups of local business owners and network with them, promote your restaurant offerings in other groups as posts or directly to other people in your network , always have something new to offer, like a new free complimentary dish. Imagine you are speaking to them in person and selling them to visit your restaurant.

LinkedIn is a valuable source for media relationship building, remember that media and press people are always on the lookout for new ideas, new locations to talk about, and about new features, connect with them directly or indirectly through other groups.

You must build the relationship first and then promote, working the other way will be shouting in a crowded place, while the first is to whisper to someone who is already listening to you.

Another way to reach beyond your immediate network is to use LinkedIn Sponsored Updates which will make you go further in your involvement where you can focus your offering to a target niche who could be of interest to you, or you can go with an advertising plan targeted to your market.

Interconnect

Your presence on LinkedIn is not an island, your information and posts should be cross shared with other social networks that you are already on, like Facebook, Twitter, Google plus and YouTube. Cross share and interconnect your messages and points of contacts will increase your perimeter to where your potential clients could interact and connect with you, and remember that the more exposed, the more the chances you have to be noticed and remembered.

Do you have any other ideas on how to use LinkedIn? we would like to hear your input.

I highly agree with Franck Bober, on his 30 second MBA with Fast Company, for when you want to create for the future either in functional or esthetic design, you must create in the future pushing the limits of creativity.

Many of our products where not required by our clients, but when the finished product saw the light, they accepted it, embraced it, thanked us and said “why didn’t i think of it before” , and ” we did not know that i needed it before”

What we learned in University about Marketing research and client feedback, is still very relevant, even though the title of this post and the video seem to contradict this idea, but the issue is where and how client feedback must be considered and HOW it is evaluated, and through what lens they should be scrutinized.
